Hello, the 2022 Tacoma TRD sport that I was offered to buy has a factory installed roof rack on it. Can the dealership remove it successfully? Or will I always have to worry about leaks?

If its installed correctly it wont really leak, if it does start to leak its a 30-45 minute repair to remove it and reseal it.

If its too much of a worry for you, then you can have the dealer removed it, seal the holes with silicone glue, and put the normal drip rails on.

All Tacomas have the holes for attaching a roof rack. They’re only sealed with something like a thick strip of tape on the trucks that don’t have the roof rack installed. They will be able to seal them easily and you shouldn’t have to worry about leaks.

The roof rack uses pre-drilled holes from the factory. It can be removed and closed up and you should never know it was there.

If they do a good job resealing the holes, no problem.
I'd suggest keeping the roof rack though... why take it off?

No holes on the access cab you have to drill.
