I should know my summer work schedule soon. I wouldn't mind doing a skyline drive run this summer. (Start on hwy6 and continue south to hwy 70 all off-road). We could camp at blue lake (or one of the many spots in that range).

Last time I did it, it was mostly easy, but it had several washouts and mud holes that required 4lo.

After months and months of looking in Utah and surrounding states (and prices just continuing to go up), I added this to the fleet this week...

    Resized_20220517_130032(1).jpg

2021 Platinum, snagged it certified used from Tony Divino. Had them install a 2.5" level kit before we took delivery.

I have outgrown my Taco, both family wise and towing. Fitting three carseats in the Taco was a nightmare. And I couldn't pull our TT with the Taco anymore after we upgraded. Wife has a Tahoe, but it has been super unreliable and didn't tow extremely well. Plan now is to sell the Taco and Tahoe and get the wife into a newer midsize suv with 3rd row and better fuel economy...maybe a VW Atlas.

Going from a Tacoma to a Tundra is kinda like going to a minivan. At least the reasons are similar.

    Life does that I suppose.

Take those dirty words out of your mouth. I swore years ago I'd never own a mini van. While the interior space was a motivating factor. The biggest reason for the switch was the extra 3700 lbs of towing capacity.

Yeah... minivans kinda go right along with the need for ever larger camping trailers. Just think, now you can get a thirty foot fifth wheel with satellite and a king size bed so you can experience nature.

(Just giving you s**t, it's perfectly fine if you do you.)

Idk, theres a dude with a lifted minivan that drops his kids off at school and I dont hate it.

Itd make a great fire road slayer, and has room for days inside.

Anyone have a large shop press that would be willing to give me a hand removing LBJs from a set of replacement LCAs? I’ve been able to removed the old bushings using a bottle jack and heat but would like to replace the LBJs while I’m at it. Planning on replacing the OEM bushings with white lines as well. I haven’t tried a traditional ball joint press yet as I am afraid I would break the rental from autozone or whatever. I’ve heard that the OEM LBJs often need greater than 10 tons of force to remove….

I think a rental is still worth attempting just don't use excessive force :fingerscrossed:

When did broken rental tools become the responsibility of the user? As long as it is being used for the intended use if it breaks then it is not strong enough to do the job it is supposed to do. In fact if it breaks... they should refund your money.

The people I once hung out with used to go down to Capitol Reef for Memorial Day weekend every year. The campground was a lot smaller then and was half empty all weekend. We'd get there late Friday, in the dark, and there was a choice of spots to set our tents.
Of course we bragged up the park as I'm sure everyone else was doing, and it got busier every year. The last year we went was in 1980 and I went down on Thursday to be sure we would get a spot. Friday the rest of the gang showed up, all the sites were full, and we were glad I went down to save a spot.
Two huge motorhomes pulled in and circled the campground... and there were no open sites. A guy jumped out and approached the people at a site across from us, opening his wallet, and then he went next door to the site adjoining. Pretty soon the original occupants were gone and the two motorhomes were set up.
Today the orchard next to the original campground has been destroyed to expand the campground to double what it was, and you have to make reservations at least a year ahead.
    There are too many people.

I pulled the trigger on this all weather OEM tacoma flooring. Hopefully it isn't discontinued. I also hope it fits... Ill post pics if I get it and if it actually fits. I do trust the TW community so my flooring should look like the image below.

    Background:
This was apparently an option for 2012+ tacomas. It was ~$50 as an add on when ordering your truck. This thread has multiple people who have installed it on 2005-2010 tacomas: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/oem-all-weather-flooring-part-numbers.443444/

Anybody need 1” seat spacers for the rear of the front seats? Pickup in Saratoga Springs for $15 or bring me a JCW meal…

came off a 3rd gen…not sure if they work with a 2nd gen.

We rented a Sprinter to try this past weekend cause we're running out of room in our camper with the kids. It was really awesome...
    :crapstorm:

We were actually in/around Bryce for memorial day. It was not very busy at all, though we didn't spend a ton of time in the park proper...
