    Hi,

Been a while since I posted. Which is good since everything has been going so good. Anyway, was out in the rain today and I noticed my wiper switch on my 99 does not have intermitent sweep.

I thought maybe there was an upgrade out there you could plug in and easily upgrade to that feature.

I found a switch serial # 17A164-LH and went looking for it and found a lot of them from a lot of different years. Are all of these interchangeable ? Can someone clarify which one I shoulld be looking for and if they make a new one ?

    Thanks,

    Lou

Can't remember the part number , but I switched out the one on my 07. Works great , took about 20 minutes. Cost about 75 bucks.

I pulled one from a junkyard Tacoma. Not sure of the part number, but you should be able to find Tacoma compatibility listed online.

Toyota was big into re-using parts in the '90's and early 00's so there's a decent chance a part from another vehicle will work as well--I've heard of folks even using Lexus signal/wiper stalks--but you might end up with the stalk at a funny angle or with a slightly different aesthetic compared to your turn signal stalk.

Watch out for stalks with rear wiper controls, too. They'll probably work fine but you'll have an extra control that doesn't do anything.

That was what was confusing. They have different years in which they appear to be using the same wiper switch on a lot of different Toyotas. They all have the same part number. Except the ones with a wiper in the back. I did notice that extra washer symbol. Anyway, thanks to all. I found some on Ebay. They look in great shape.

Wiper switches from Lexus from the same era also fit. I installed is300 switches (both headlight and wiper). Plugged right in, works as they should. The benefit here is that I now have the intermittent function and still retain the mist function as well whereas the Tacoma intermittent switch does not. @6P4 is correct - the switch angles are different but it doesn't bother me and the added functionality is well worth it.

    Hi,

Thanks for the information. Haven't bought anything yet. Interesting link. My 99 has the spray feature in the arm. You pull the arm to make it spray. I see that replacement upgrades do have the spray feature and that you apparently operate the sprayer in the same manner as the 99. Does the is300 arm have a buttom on the end of the stick to spray as well ? Looks like the sprayer is that button on the end and you can not pull it to spray since I don't see that note as an instruction on the stick.

Correct, the spray button is on the tip/end of the stick. Pulling the stick towards you operates the mist function.
