So I am having problems with my tacoma starting that I hope someone will be able to give me some answers on. For a few weeks now it has been starting intermittently. All the lights on the dash will light up but it wont even try to crank. I would tap on the starter and then it would start. I tried this several times and it worked after it wouldn't start so assumed that it was just the starter so I had that replaced. It seemed to work fine for about a week without any issues starting but all of a sudden it started doing the same thing. I've checked voltage on battery and that's good. There aren't any symptoms that would point to it being the alternator or fuel pump either so I am kinda at a loss. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

It's a tough one, could be starter relay, ignition switch, wiring etc.

I've seen cars with GPS immobilizers that prevent starters from engaging, usually installed on high risk loans sold from shady used car lots.

For reference, the factory immobilizer doesn't prevent cranking, it prevents injectors.
