I am putting running boards on my Tacoma and it looks a bit un even is it due to the fact that maybe the truck isn’t leveled?

Def not. The issue is with installation or the product itself. Is here another tab on the bracket? Is everything thight?

The gap between the boards and the body should be the same regardless of the trucks stance. Yours look tighter towards the front.

Its easier with another person to step back and guide you, but if you are solo just loosen bolts and realign everything until it matches. You may have to crawl up and down a few times. There is enough adjustability in them to even them out. Rarely does it happen on the first try .

Are the mounting brackets the same height or length? Maybe switch the front with the back to make the gap even if there is no adjustability.

It kinda looks like they are on backwards. They just seem to be sitting really far back.

Loosen all the bolts then tighten the back bolts first. Maybe that should fix it

That might be for the other side of the vehicle. The step should be sitting closer to the front of both doors. Have you tried swapping the steps out on both sides?

Are these the OEM Predator steps or aftermarket?

Sorry, can't help with the install question but I like the look of these ones.

Are those aftermarket? It looks like you can see a bare metal tab under the step hat isn’t there on my OEM step. It also looks like you can see the actual bolt that is holding the slider to the truck towards the back where the gap is.

    Something is definitely not right.

I too would loosen the bolts and redo it. No need to take it off, if it works.

    Good luck!

    Oh look, another mod....

Those look after market to me. These are my predator steps that came with my truck (bought it new):

    upload_2022-5-31_15-56-44.jpg

The OP's don't have the slotted inserts that mine have. Mine also stop at the cab, the OP's seem to run into the bed area. Also my steps are FURTHER forward. I checked his picture against mine, and mine are several inches (that's how it looks anyway) forward.

    His aren't lined up correctly.

    A few.
The front mounting bracket is usually a different design than the middle and rear so its not hard to tell how they go on.

I bet either the brackets are swapped/misplaced or you've got left and right boards swapped.

Interesting problem , I just notice you have a long bed. If you are going off roading, I suggest a rock slider, you can still step on it to get in. Because the truck is longer the center or rocker panels have more chances for damages? Do not get the Rhino coating, too hard to keep clean, go with powdered coating. Because of LB I added a trail hitch skid plate too.
