Any folks explored this area - wondered what the terrain looked like -
Looks pretty 'dark' and what I want is to find an area, a pull out or trail-parking
lot that would overlook ( to the S.W. ) some good foreground images for some
    Milky Way Shots.

Contrary to popular belief, the galaxy does not revolve around Orange County and California.
You might as well have posted hieroglyphics.

Haven't been back there since college but there are some decent trails. Be prepared to run into hill people...

[IMG] More like this guy. Some weird stuff back there. Be wary, be armed lol. Lots of mines, most still registered to phelps dodge. People died a few years ago exploring one of them, collapsed on them. The mining exhibit where you can stand on the plexiglass and look down the hole is pretty awesome. Ask a local in Jerome, they'll all tell you all about what's back there. But for the love of god and all that's holy, don't go to Jerome on a weekend. If you're coming from Prescott, before you get to Jerome there's a trail to the hang glider launch on the cliff overlooking Cottonwood. Lot's of good spots along there with minimal light pollution for pics.
