Disconnected Wire?

Hello, recently got rock sliders purchased and installed and he mentioned to me that I had a random wire sticking out. Neither of us knew where it went to or what it was for. I don't know how long it has been like that and I have never had any warning lights on or any weird issues with my Tacoma.
Any ideas as to what it is ?

 

Looks like the transfer case breather...but not sure if it's in the right spot.

 

It's a hose that connects to a nipple on the top of that black plastic box.

 

Looks like the nipple it was pulled off of (red arrow). Could be wrong, but that's a pretty clean spot of plastic and you can see marks on the hose where it was pulled.

I would question your slider installation if he didn’t know the difference between a wire and a hose

agreed, I would think he would have the knowledge to try to put it back in place...
