Locknlube makes an awesome zerk fitting multi tool that I figured I’d share. Snapped one of the zerks off my UCA and used it to remove the broken one, re thread the hole and insert the new one.

Used the truck to pick up my new to me sheet of 3/16” steel for the free. I will be following @EatSleepTacos writeup and doing my front crossmember chop along with remaking the front skid for a better approach angle.

Not all done today per se but @NcTaco27 and I got the JDFAB spindle gussets and double sheer heim steering kit installed. We also made the finishing touches to the HC rear bumper he has been building for me over the last few months. He did an incredible job.

next……powder coat.

The compressor is this
https://www.amazon.com/ATPEAM-Macpherson-Compressor-Universal-Interchangeable/dp/B0922W5XHB?crid=30EQ9KWZ8Y0ZQ&keywords=spring+compressor&qid=1653960098&sprefix=spring+com%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-8

I’m not sure if it will work on the 2.5s. These were the most heavy duty spring I’ve used them on and they didn’t have any problems.

Worked on drilling out the old pop rivets on my shell rear flip up window. One of the struts broke. Discovered the mounting brackets were bent, nothing a good hammer won't fix. (I often drive with my rear window flipped up so my German Shepherd can harass other dogs we pass). Researched replacement gas shocks on Amazon. Will drill out the rivets on the other side tomorrow, careful not to expand the rivet hole size. I have some aluminum pop rivets and rivet gun in my garage.
Old rivets appear to be steel. Will probably order steel rivets in addition from Amazon to do it right. If mounting brackets don't straighten to my satisfaction I will order those too.

Lots of turbo prep for me this weekend. Started out swapping in my upper oil pan that has the turbo drain port welded in. Then moved onto building a bracket & mounting my Moroso catch can. Waiting on parts for that to plumb it up but it’s ready. It has a valve on it so I ran a hose to the passenger fender well so it’s easy to drain. After that I moved onto heat shielding prep for the ac lines, valve cover, and wire loom. Also cleaned up some of the vacuum lines and shielded those too. Used some reflective tape on the valve cover and ac lines. Then went back and covered the ac lines and wire loom in PTP lava heat sleeve as well. Next weekend will be back to finishing the down-pipe and mid-pipe and then I’ll try to rework the intake piping and plumb everything up.

Had the tray installed recently, swapped out the mudflaps for these cool Washington ones I found on ETSY, and did a full suspension swap from OME HD front and rears to the BP-51 set up with a Deaver stage II pack out back. So far so good!

Truck is back from the garage after the straightforward wheel job turned into an emergency front suspension one. What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

They installed some Monroe 171371 strut and coil spring assemblies, and now I feel like it sits lower in the front, even though the bigger tires are now on. Maybe it's just my eyes, or maybe the suspension they installed is for the base Tacoma model, and not the higher OR version? I asked the mechanic and he said they seemed to be the same when he compared them... whatever, I didn't have much of a choice if I wanted my truck back asap, so it'll do for now, until I put in some Bilstein 5100's in the Fall.
