    Dumb question

    Went to check ubolts today.
The torque on 4 of them was over 60ft-lb, other 4 of them were way under. Took quite a few turns to get to 60 ft-lb.

Question- can I loosen them and torque evenly on the ground, or do I need to get it up in the air?

Suspension components should always be torqued on the ground with the vehicles weight settled on it.

IIRC U bolt spec is 73ft lbs

The FSM states 37 which is a misprint.

If you have aftermarket default to the manufacturer's specifications over Toyota's.

Re check your torques after a hundred miles or so of driving.

Good on you for doing so.

Also the U bolts should be torqued evenly in an X pattern turn each nut down by hand, ensure the threads on each are even then when torquing do a few cranks move to the next 8n the X pattern do a few turns etc untill all 4 on each mount are even in threads and meeting the set torque value.
