    Bet that was a wild fight, did you release it? Back in VA it was "illegal" to release them back in the water we were supposed to kill them or turn them in to VDGIF. Been hoping to catch on some day so I can cook it up, I hear they taste great.

    Nahhh lol I've never had alligator gar. I've heard they're not too bad just real hard to filet. Where I go fishing it's brackish and I can throw a cast net at one spot where there's a drain pipe and pull up at least 5 of these at any time.

    Siwash hooks are so much better than the treble hooks. Better hooksets, less damage to the fish, and less snags on the bottom.:thumbsup:

    Definitely noticed less snags. Even when I did get snagged I was always able to get it back. Didn't lose a single spoon, even the couple times I got em in a tree hahaha (it was super windy and the spoons are only 4 grams lol).
