MESO Customs Dual Color Map and Dome Lights

I recently got the new version map lights and uninstalled in 3 days. I can't stand the default to white. Is he really going back to the original style? If that's the case I might hang on to these for a swap with Meso when it's time.

 

On page 5 of this thread he addresses this:

“I will be going back to a mechanical relay and see if we can nail down the double press issue. If you have the last batch that defaults to white, and can't live with it not remembering red.. I totally understand. Send us a ticket and I am happy to refund you.”

 

@MESO any update on when the old style will be available for us who want them in exchange for the "newer style".

New maps will be in at the end of the month. Just shoot us a message through the website and you can get put on a list for the color/memory maps.

What’s the issue with them?

When I got mine a while ago i noticed that I’d have to double push the button to switch between red/white.


Whe parked for a bit or days mine will hold red all the time and that’s the way I want them.
Or will they fail and start to toggle later on?

 

Based on what you're saying, you have the V1 dual maps. The V2 which came out in March will default back to white from red when the truck turns off, which was by design. Some of us prefer the v1 style like you have, so we are on a waiting list to hopefully soon exchange ours for the V1 style.

 

It looks like they are the v2 , bought in September 2021.


Were they possibly v1 or will they “go bad”?
The dome light functions the same.

No the lights dont change when opening the doors. You have to change it on the map light itself. The dual color maps are headed to us and shouldn't be much longer till we have them.

It is very interesting how good the red lights are. Super nice during the dark winter months and when out camping. My fam appreciates the DC option and will flip the colors when they need it.

 

I always use the red and rarely the white, but nice to have the option.

It’s funny how so many want that crazy bright bluish third world county fluorescent bulb look.....like all they can get is cool white.

 

I like the bright white LED when I'm trying to find things in the truck at night, but want the option to leave it red when camping/hunting. Best of both worlds. I'm a tint snob and wouldn't stand for ugly LEDs. There is a touch of yellow around the edge of these LED's but they're probably about 5000k, nowhere near 6k/blue.

Map light restock is live on the site. Assuming it’s the new version with color memory fixed I put in an order and can update when I get them for those interested.

 

I assume it's back to mechanical relay to give it color memory, but I'm curious if @MESO solved the double click issue he had with that version with this latest drop. I have the double clickers and don't mind the "issue/feature", but I have a money itch for the updated version that solves that double clicking thing.

I got my shipment notification yesterday so I'm assuming they're starting to ship the replacements. I'm going to sell my old Maps and then turn around and buy something else from MESO with the money, I appreciate them making this right.

is this a regular issue for all versions? I got the v2s but have had my headliner out since I got them so no experience with them yet.
