Got these on the 2nd production.

I prefer the original full white (which I kept in the truck) to the dual color.

FYI the 2nd production v2 doesn’t auto retain the red color.

All lights are functional..no missing LEDs etc.

So they'll default to white after turning off and back on again? Is that normal for all of the new ones going forward?

Yes and I believe so. There’s existing threads on it that explain the reasons why.

I have the MESO V2 Dual red/white dome and map lights and that is not how they work. If they are set to red, and I turn the truck off, they will still be red when I restart the truck. They will remain red, until you change them to white. And vise versa, with white.

The only "hiccup" is that when you go to switch from red to white or white to red, the first time after starting the truck, you'll need to push the switch button twice. After that, it will take 1 push of the button to switch back and forth, until you restart the truck. It's an incredibly minor issue.

Regardless, my maps and domes will remain the color you set them to, until you push that button... twice...

Yeah? The comments in this thread make it seem like they always default to white.

Depends on which batch of the V2s you get.

I got the first batch, and they have the mechanical switch as you say. It retains red, but mine has issues of pushing twice to get it to switch colors.

The newest batch went to a different board with a digital switch. It solves the mechanical "double push" problem, but it defaults to white with every ignition shutdown.

There is now a third batch in the works that is supposed to solve both issues.

I believe it was in the initial batch, some of the polarity reversible bridges were sensitive to the input voltage and would default to one color or take a couple presses to change color. Both my dome and maps sometimes take two presses to change colors.

There is a component near the power leads that can be removed and the leads just become polarity specific. That was noted to fix the problem.

I thought about it, but my very minor issue doesn't annoy me.

I have not heard what the current state is. @MESO might let us know?

Damn! There you go. Sorry OP, I didn't mean to clutter your for sale thread...

    Thanks Rocky for the clarification.

    Thanks for that full explanation.

I'm definitely a fan of the color staying as I left it. Love the red!

Defaulting to white would be a dealbreaker for me. I would also like the lights to be dimmable, a feature they don't have. How "hackable" are these lights? Should I just jump on them the next time and then figure out how to wire them differently?

Looks like the version you would prefer (color memory) will be released at the end of the month. As far as dimming, it could probably be an easy fix, if you had a place to mount a dimmer control. MESO may be the best reference on ease of converting one.
