Good morning fookers! I'm off to test another pair of hiking boots. I got these LA Sportiva from REI last week and tried them last Sunday.
They have a really grippy Vibram sole, they fit well and were pretty comfy and got some decent reviews from backpacking/hiking magazines. The other boot that kept making the top of every "great buy" list was the Solomon Quest 4
    [IMG]
These weren't on the display when I was looking at boots at REI, so I didn't know about them. I ordered them and they showed up yesterday, so they get a test drive and one of the boots will get returned. REI makes it so easy to test something then return it if it doesn't work well for you, which is great for items at these price points. They go into the "garage sale" and someone else can scoop up a good deal. Everyone wins

Any feedback from anyone that has used either of these boots? I'm curious to what Weesa uses for hiking boots since she is out there almost every weekend.

    Morning all

    Last day at the villa

I'm sorry, did you say something?

Tried many different boots during my backpacking days. Always came back to the cheapest one. Only $60. Bought 2 pair, never used the second ones.
I think they were Hi-Tec. No break in period and never had a blister.

I did around 500 miles in them.

Thanks Y'all! Surgery was a raging success and I can see like a 20 year old out of my right eye. Went in for a post op check this morning and they scheduled the left eye for the 16th.

I have several pairs of Merrells and one pair of Lowa boots. And none of them have their original footbeds, those get ripped out day one and replaced with an orthotic footbed for high arches. like these or these.
the Lowa's were the most expensive and i wear them the least. I think I've had them for almost 10 years and they still look new. They're pretty high on the ankle and aren't comfortable for steep trails. The soles are really weird too, fine on dirt but if the rubber gets a little wet they are slippery on rocks and I've nearly taken a tumble a few times when they get that way.

My go to's for most hikes are my Merrell Moabs. Super comfy, good support and good traction. I have two pairs of the same but both are in great shape, I only got the 2nd pair because REI had a killer deal on them one time and I couldn't pass it up.

Many Merrell sneakers that I wear almost daily for my walks around the neighborhood and running errands. Tried a few other brands over the years but nothing is as comfy or lasts as long so I just stick with what works!

I have a pair of lowa gtx renegades that have been a great wearing and grippie boot. My every day shoe is a keen targhee II my work shoe. But my current favorite are altra’s for day hiking I have the Timp2 and they are like spider man on rocks and trail light weight but not waterproof you can’t have everything.

    Good afternoon everyone :hattip:

Looks like I'm not going anywhere soon !!! , the construction crew has me blocked me in my driveway . I could get my truck out if I drove onto the lawn . But there's no way to get my Camaro out and want to go to the car show this evening

What's funny is home owners can't park on the street but construction workers can park the vehicles and equipment were ever they want
