So you are or are not going to leave an upper decker in one of the toilets?

    Also, belated congrats.

That’s a great sign of respect in some cultures I hear. You have to do it, it’d be disrespectful not to.

I can leave an upper decker in the upstairs toilet, that's like double points right?

    Thanks!

My truck's at the dealer getting the front diff torn down and rebuilt or replaced due to a slightly hum it's had for a few thousand miles (I'd say Ford problems but from what I read it doesn't seem like it's very common).

They gave me a Fusion in the meantime and I must admit it isn't awful. It's comfortable and I'm getting 33 MPG. The 1.5 EcoBoost feels reasonably peppy for what it is too. Having had trucks and Subaru Outbacks my whole life I don't like feeling like I'm sitting on the ground, though.

I've been thinking about getting a ~30 MPG small SUV as a second vehicle that is nice and functional enough where I wouldn't hate it and would drive it enough to keep miles off the truck. But with increases in property tax, fuel, heating, and grocery costs, I don't think I can realistically fit any second vehicle into the budget right now anyway so it's probably a moot point.

Wifey had a 2016 (I think) Fusion AWD with the 2.0L ecoboost (again, I think). Was fun to drive, but ate pretty expensive tires on a regular basis. She got the "Titanium" package which came with 19" (again, I think) stock wheels.
She traded it a little over a year for a Rav4 Hybrid.

Much as driving a GM product sucked, I had a 2019-20 Chevy Malibu the first few weeks after my truck went to Toyota last year. 40-42MPG city on a gasser wasn't horrible.

This is just an SE FWD. Oddly, it has keyless start but not intelligent access. With my truck if I put my hand around the door handle it unlocks. I couldn't figure out why this one wasn't doing that until I looked it up and found that only the higher trims got that option. Keyless start is pointless on its own - I don't know why they wouldn't have just done a normal key if you need to get it out to unlock it anyway.

It does handle really nicely, but some of that may be just my perception since I am used to driving pickups.

I figure that although I miss my truck I am saving money while I am waiting for it. I am hoping to have it back mid week, but we'll see.

After many, many years on eBay and buying far, far, FAR too many diecast models over the past two years, I finally screwed up and likely got bit by a model that was misadvertised. I collect 1/18 scale models and found a version of the final one for my collection, an AUTOart Bugeye WRX. It wasn't in my preferred color, but the price was right and it had some dopey SCCA decals on it that I could tell would easily come off. It was labeled as a 1/18 and used the 1/18 item code in the description, so I threw in a bid last night and went to bed. Woke up, won it, paid for it and when I was reviewing the listing I have a sinking feeling the seller actually has a 1/43 scale model, not a 1/18. I'll see what I actually receive in the mail and go from there.

Ultimately eBay has all the buyer protections in the world so I'm not worried, but the range of "I finally got the last piece" to "dammit" is annoying.

Thanks for listening to the whine.

Yup, almost ran into that multiple times buying my diecast cars! People list them the wrong size, made out the wrong material, etc.
