Anyone else have an issue where they can't rev past 3500 rpm, if I give it more than half throttle it cuts out aswell. I've already replaced the MAF because it said that was bad but it's still saying that the MAF is bad and an SAIS fault, CODE:p0102,P0113,P1613. It's a 2010 Tacoma base 2wd with the 2.7 and 96,978 miles.

It’s normal when you have those codes.
It’s in a fail safe mode. You won’t get it to rev up until you fix the current issues causing those codes.

Ok well do u possibly know what's wrong? Or a common issue I'm glad it isn't destroyed or anything but I've seen people having issues with the SAIS system and I'm in a non emissions state, do u think it would be worth buying the kit to just delete it?

It would help if you had a basic scan tool.
You need to check the MAF grams/sec when the engine is warm and running.
And the IAT sensor. (Intake Air Temperature) - It’s built into the MAF.
The scan tool will help put you on the right path fairly. This helps spot a Short/Open.
Other wise, you need to pull out a volt meter and test what you can.

My guess is, since you’ve replaced the MAF, it’s a wiring issue.
Or, it’s a bad new part. Did you buy an OEM sensor?

I did replace it with a factory part a Denso one to be exact and my friend has a scan tool I can see if it can do that and it makes no sense to me it also happened at once not over time, I went to work fine one day but when I started my truck up after work it shut off then I started it and it ran like this and everytime I let it sit for a few mins it shuts off after start up then it starts and stays running but if I shut it off and restart it it starts and doesn't shut off. Could this possibly be ECU related? That would sure suck

I seriously doubt it’s ECU related.
Do you have a voltage meter?

You likely end up needing to check power, grounds, and possibly resistance.
A scan tool will definitely help speed up the process.

As for the SAIS, I’m not too familiar with the system.
But you need to fix the MAF issue before moving on to it.

Yeah I agree my friends snap on scanner might be able to help and I agree it seems SAIS might be tripped due to the MAF issue I'll reply with anything we find and if it just dead ends I'll likely just take it to the dealer and let them give me an estimate on a repair and if it is the SAIS system causing it if the repair exceeds the delete kit I'll just delete it since I'm in a non emissions state.

Ok so I've bought a multimeter to even see if the thing is getting power any ideas on how to test it because there's no way to put it in the connector and I'd hate to cut it open just for there to be nothing wrong but I have no idea another way to check power to the sensor soon tomorrow I should be able to get the scan tool to get further data

the FSM has expected voltage readings for given flows. Measure at the ECM for closed loop real time feedback.

Ok what color wires would I measure and how would I measure them with the meter sorry for all the questions but electrical stuff engine wise is not my strong suit and I'm trying to get as much info as possible before taking to the dealer so I can tell them what I know instead of them just throwing parts at it like some I know do

Given you have multiple MILs for the same device (MAF), it sounds like a bad connection either ground or +B to the MAF, or the MAF itself is just toast.

Alright if it doesn't lead anywhere after checking all this I'll assume I got a bad part and return it and get another

Ok so I ran the scanner on it finally since I've had time, it says both my 02 sensors are out but it never threw codes for that on the other basic reader, I've ordered new Denso ones aswell as a mid pipe since I new the rear was gone after my cat was stolen but never new the front was out and read that can cause safe mode hopefully this fixes it and I can enjoy my truck again

It’s kind of unusual for them to both be bad?

Hopefully that fixes it, Bunin the mean time is check the power and relay for them.

Well I don't have the rear one because someone chopped my cat in ATL but the front one was still there but close to the cut spot so in the elements, is it possible water got on it and ruined it I had been driving like that for awhile with no issue till recently aswell as the truck has almost 100k and hasn't had 02 sensors done so are they at the end of their life? And yeah I agree hopefully the downpipe and 02's fix my issue if not but I'll keep looking but so far power grounds and resistance seem to be no issue

Ok been awhile since I have updated I've replaced the midpipe with 2 new 02 sensors and still hasn't fixed my issue I decided to look at the SAIS system and if I'm not mistaken the air pump is supposed to spin on startup right? If so mine is not because I took the top part off started the truck and looked and it didn't move, none of the foam is in it, is it possible my pump has failed I've had water in the engine bay before and mud everywhere so is it possible that bit of water destroyed the pump?
