I purchased my 2010 Tacoma in 2015 with 27-k today 6/5/2022 it has 110252 and in that time I had to replace one battery, front pads, rotors, and one wheel bearing. I change the oil about every 3500 to 4500 miles with Mobil one. I have a shell gas station across from my work so I use shell gas and I could not be more pleased with the reliability. It is a manual 5speed 2.7 regular cab 4x4 with SPC upper's and Bilstein 6100 and 5100 in the rear. I did the EGCS bushing replacement and I highly recommend this because it gives more support and is much quieter than the needle bearings. This is one tough truck!!!

I know. Even my 07 Ford ran like new at 165k miles. Replaced 2 thermostat housings, AIC, throttle body, left hub and starter. The rest was maintenance. This little guy never let me down. Pretty good for 7 years if you ask me.

My 07 has 229,000 miles on it. I replaced the alternator at 180,000. New struts and shocks at 125,000. Other than normal stuff like brakes, batteries, and tires etc., that is it.

I know but 110k miles is just laughably low to make a post about reliability. Most properly maintained vehicles produced within the past 12 years will easily last 150k miles without major maintenance.

Do not ever sell it. You will regret it. Just keep fixing anything that goes wrong with it. Nice truck.

Surprised a wheel bearing went w under 150-200K miles.

You might want to get your oil tested at 5,000 miles to see how much life you have in it still. If it’s full synth, you have thousands of miles of perfectly good oil left.

Those 2.7L motors are pretty reliable up to 200-250k before they start having valve issues. By then, you'll probably get your money's worth already.

I'm impressed with that average of 12,000 miles a year after the 27k in the first 5 years. I generally run about 8,000 a year, but fuel availability and prices permitting, hope to run this 2009 many miles this summer visiting old grounds (and some new) in the NW (MT, WY, ID, OR, WA), since I have some ashes to scatter and grandkids and dog to meet, fish to watch, beer and coffee to drink... Yep, Dad's ashes will be riding in the last truck he was ever going to order this summer... Hard to beat the Toyota 4-cylinder and 5-speed manual; even the 100 hp 22-RE engine (1984 Longbed Deluxe) was an impressive boat puller. Enjoy!

I just passed the 12k mile mark/1year of ownership on my 2014. (115K) I always worried about buying used in the past but this truck hasn't even used any oil between the three changes (conventional) I have done. I wanted one, saved for one and purchased one with the intention that it's the last vehicle I will own. It looks like a keeper.

It started life as a lease, which in my mind is a good thing when it comes to purchasing a used vehicle: the leasing company/dealers like to scrutinize it under a microscope and make your life miserable when you give it back and turn it in. This scares people for the entire lease: they know what's coming some day so they tow the line and take care of it) and then they kill you anyway with turn-in charges: "excess mileage, door and bumper dings, mystery interior grunge, the 8,000 mile oil change you screwed up on and missed because you were in Antarctica for a year, tires, off-brand oil filter... yada yada yada. No evidence of ever greasing the drive shaft zerks every 5,000 miles as clearly recommended/required?? "Uh-Oh!! :facepalm:Yeah: Sir: That's gonna cost you: so sad, too bad." Mine was mostly dealer maintained by the book for the first five years per the Toyota Owners website VIN check-up. Hard to define but you can tell... and the frame looks good.
