Wow. That's a pricey admission ticket.

    Yep. $$$

I'll wait until they have showers and a little more infrastructure before paying that price.

Merus is awesome! I don't like crowds so no Takeover for me. It only cost 35 dollars for a wheeling day pass, that's reasonable. We did the Green Tour back in March, great experience. We are planning a return trip for this fall, no tour this time. Amarillo is a long way from most of Texas so we will make a vacation out of it and go the nearby state parks and perhaps the National Flint Monument

Apparently they're stopping the day passes, and will require the $850 annual membership or be part of an event.

Well, that would be a shame. I noticed the calendar for September is frozen, wonder if that's when the membership rule kicks in. I sent an email to Merus, asking about this. It's so far away that I can get there once or twice a year, not near enough to justify $850.

Man, talk about shooting yourself in the foot. From a business standpoint that's ignoring easy revenue for low volume sales, where the driver of said sales would have mostly come from day pass purchasers. Considering their steep membership price combined with a majority non-resident customer base (able to visit 1-2x annually), that means they are counting on sponsored events to pull the bulk of their income.

    :der:o_O

Best of luck to them, but a dollar says they will be revising that policy before this time next year.

Unless they hate money and just want it to be an elitist park where us unwashed poors are unwelcome, which in that case, good for them.
