Do you have to leave the dongle on all the time with the app or is it a one-and-done? Ex: I want to change a setting so I fire up the app, attach the dongle, change the settings then I am done and the settings persist. I then remove the dongle and don't have to connect it again until I want to change/update a setting. Do the settings persist when the dongle is removed?

Yep, none of the dealers in my area would do it and even though I had a couple of nice people offer to help me with it being away from home and having a kid and dog I didn’t have the time to drive out to where they were to get it taken care of.

The one I found works well and doesn’t stick straight up like most of them so although it was my last preferred option it turned out pretty alright.

Does anyone know if this is true? About to buy this Carista app, (free trial only for those who buy the carista OBD scanner) and then cancel it. Don't want to drop ten bucks every time I need to unhook the battery. That would suck

I disabled my seatbelt chimes with Carista 3 years ago and the chimes have never come back with many battery disconnects
