That’s a fair point. I had forgotten about the DJM setup. I love how my truck rides and have no problem with its overall performance coming to ground clearance and whatnot. Just appearance wise I was attempting to tweak it to where it was a slightly taller, maybe different tires. I’m not going to put ridiculous mud tires on here but maybe some all terrains would help that look.

No offence, but to me the wheel design is a bit weak for a truck, looks more like a car wheel. If you got some different wheels that are an inch wider and it would look a lot better I think.
That’s just me of course, thinking out loud, everyone has a different opinion

I agree, they are very car like. They came with the truck when I bought it, and have liked em enough to keep them thus far. I have looked at some black rhino wheels and some classic Toyota wheels to see if anything fits.:tumbleweed:

I think the 2nd Gen bodies look very car-like, so to me, this works well. I would probably drop the back 1 1/2" to round out the look..

I agree on it looking car like, but wouldn’t it take on a squatted look if I drop the rear that much?

Was driving down the road and my front passenger side fender liner had come undone and was badly worn down by the tire while I was traveling. Recommendations on where to get a new one? Not trying to run through a dealership but idk if a junkyard is viable, as those parts have been through some wear and tear

Well shoot y’all, I believe my wheel bearing is bad in the passenger side front. I suspect this as the noise just started today after I went over 65 mph. The noise comes and goes, but it’s like clicking or ticking like there’s a stick stick in the wheel. Thoughts?

Update: issue avoided, I found the issue that was creating the noise, it was remnants of the fender liner that was scraping as the air from underneath the car forced it into the tire. No wheel bearing problems!

It’s been awhile, but an update: I received the URD MAF Sensor Calibrator in the mail last week and installed. So far it runs like a dream. I’ll keep the thread updated with new results from the device. Also, I am thinking about replacing my chrome front grille with a white front grille to make it a little cleaner. What do y’all think?

I have to say, the calibrator evened out some of the power through the rev range, gave it a little extra juice, and offsets loss of power from the a/c (kinda). I’m pleased with the unit.

Hello Thread! I am back. I just replaced my clutch master cylinder, as the spring inside failed and the ball-joint connection to the pedal had crumbled. We are back in business. I feel like this is a somewhat common problem, as a friend of mine also had this happen to him on a newer taco.

It’s been a while guys. I just replaced my muffler with a magnaflow unit, hoping for a nice “grumble”. However, after a short time, realized that it was much too loud for daily use and went back to the shop to have the oe muffler put back on. If anyone is interested in a mocked up magnaflow muffler with exhaust hangars and tubing attached, and lives in the Raleigh/Triangle area, don’t hesitate to reach out. It’s yours if you want it.

Finally, after purchasing through last weeks Toyota parts discounts, I bought the color matched grill, and I have to say that it was worth it!

I plan on putting a set of these on mine. Black boxes have to be removed, but this covers the spot they used to be. Been told they fit 2wd taco no problem, and cheap enough to try. Go ahead and buy a bag of fresh clips too, as the old plastics tend to break when doing these types of projects.
