Searching through the forum and not really finding much about rtt and how people are mounting them on the 4Runner.

So how are you guys doing it? Can it be put on factory rails?

Yes it can, but the factory rails are low profile and the cross bars keep it that way. Getting your hand under that to tighten the bolts is a PITA. We ended up with different cross rails from LDF??? I think and that made it work great.

By the way we installed the Tepui tent.

They’re actually local to me, in the greater Charlotte area. I bought a set of blems from them and laughed that they considered them blems. Excellent design and quality.

I installed them on my wife’s 2016 4R just to mount a roof rack for road trips but they’re rock solid and weren’t much more than OE bars which aren’t even in the same ball park as far as strength.

prinsu with the low profile mount is what i've used. i stopped putting it on the roof when I got a trailer, but it was fine when up there.
