I just discovered the plug for the backup camera display on my '09 base model. I'm aware of the mirror displays for sale but I cant find any other lcd screens that are ready to plug in. just something small and independent of the rear view mirror that i could install up high. Anyone know of any thing like that on the market?

Not worth the time and effort to install or mess with the OEM backup camera unless yours came with it. The factory camera uses 6 volts which causes compatibility issues with buying aftermarket that uses 12V. Best to buy an aftermarket camera that comes with a screen or replace the OEM radio.

Thank you. My truck came with the camera and wiring installed. The plug for the display is next to the rear view mirror. are you saying i would have to find a factory mirror display in order to avoid any compatibility issues? i'm trying to avoid a whole new setup unless i have to.

That would be the easiest route in your case. a factory mirror would simply be plug n play.
