Anyone seen any issues with their clear coat. Black/metallic, hood and roof have what appear to be water stains but it is where the clearcoat is gone. Tried buffing but no good. My truck is only about 8 months old, 5k miles, never left outside, a real garage queen. WTF?

For $800, that was not a real ceramic coating.

Well I feel stupid. Water, waxing, buffing with cloth didn't remove them and a fingernail catches when you drag across the spots, so I was sure it was clearcoat damage. Drove to dealer and saw the detail guys working outside so I showed it to them and they laughed.
Mineral deposit where water has dried. Don't buff it coz it scratches the paint when the particles break loose. He used a shop towel dipped in vinegar(their secret cleaner just for this ) rubbed some out, wiped with clean water, put some spray wax on it and it looks like new.
Jeezus, who woulda thought. This is a before picture on the roof(if it loads)spots.jpg

Easy to get those sort of spots when the truck is sprayed by lawn irrigation sprinklers. Usually fairly hard water comes out of them.

Feeling relieved for you. I would still get it coated to help avoid this in the future, though. Sounds like nothing's protecting your paint with how well the hard water stuck on.
