Haha sorry…no the car made it across and I got to get a peek of it at the local dealer here as it’s being prepped for pick up.

I guessed at my shock placement and I now have 2" of uptravel and 12 of down, so I'm not the person to take advice from on that. Or I guess look at my build thread as what not to do with front shocks.

If it doesn't sell by the end of August I'll start stripping it. There's no way I'm parting that bitch when it's 100 degrees out. lol

And you are first in line for the winch.

I'm surprised it hasn't sold yet, with all the mods I would think it would be gone by now.
How much are you asking for it?

What's the thickest aluminum you cut on the plasma and what amperage is your torch? Do you just use air, or switch over to a different gas?

Supervisor wants to get a water jet (cause that's what he knows and was trained on) but a used one is 42k and the boss doesn't want to foot that kinda bill. I don't blame him. Cnc plasma has come such a long way in just the past 5 years I think it'll work way better for our price point, especially since damn near all our flat patterns are simple as fuck.

$6.5K. I talked with quite a few buddies and that was the average between them. It's gonna take the right buyer that doesn't mind jumping through DMV hoops to get it registered again. The repair will be the easy part. That's a $400 part and about 4 hours to get it done.

I could make a lot more if I parted it out but I want it to live on. It's a bad ass rig that just does what you ask it too.

How far out of registration is it? Maybe selling it in Reno would help you out. Just bringing it to Nevada may be a lot easier.
    Price sounds good.

My insurance totaled it so it's "titleless" until someone repairs it and gets a salvage title. The reg is current until next April. lol

We have two different Thermadynes and an Everlast at school, that run off 230v.

The Everlast is rated to pull up to 50 amps, while the other two are between 20 and 30.

As for what current we run? You basically just do it from experience. Think of it as if you're cutting with oxy fuel, too hot and you can easily melt the metal without cutting through it completely.

The Everlast has a blowback feature and lacks high-frequency, which makes it ideal for CNC.

The above three have cut 3/8 and 1/2 easily; the latter is rated up to 7/8?

We also have a Thermadyne at work but that thing is only 110v and is limited to 3/16.

We only run air on them though you can use Nitrogen but it'll get expensive quick.

Ignore my advice, we do cut aluminum with plasma, but the thicknesses were in regards to mild steel.

That and we don't cut much aluminum with plasma.

7/8 steel though? I've been reading people a re having issues with cutting 3/8 aluminum on a machine that's rated for 45amps. I've only ever used a plasma cutter once by hand at school through sheet steel lol

The thickest thing I'd ever cut is 3/8 Alum .. maybe a couple of machine feet out of 1/2 steel if I start building the big stuff

That's exactly what I'll be getting for all my alum flat bar and round stock. I hope it'll do okay against 1/2" 314 stainless lol otherwise I'll probably end up getting a bandsaw.

But I need to think of a plasma cutter (cnc) to regularly make the flat panels for our handsaw frames(that'll be 1/4" alum) and occasionally I'll need to cut 3/8" alum that 5"x17" and has 2 double key slot holes and 2 3/8" thru holes that I can countersink in the drill press after.

Those plates were having someone else cnc machine em and I know we can do it cheaper in house

Probably won't be until the fall... Because unlike someone I'm determined not to lose wheeling season. Gotta pull the engine...
