I'm wondering what y'alls favorite bed storage solutions are. Personally, I really like Decked but that's outside my price range as of late. I like the idea of a tool box, but I want to still be able to use my Tonneau cover. Secondly, I would like it to adhere to the bed somehow so it won't slide when I drive(I don't have the bed mat but I probably should), but also be removable when necessary. The closest I've found to this so far is the Swingcase, which is cool but for $200 a side(I feel like I'd want one for each side of the bed lol) its hard for me to believe there's not a similar, cheaper option out there.

    Link to Swingcase

I'm currently designing a (multi part)3D print that I believe will solve my problem but my gf is convinced there has to be something out there that I can just buy and call it good. What are your thoughts?

A bed mat is a must have.

For me it's a bed mat and four banana boxes from Costco. :D

Don't laugh, they're super tough and very handy. I have one tucked up front that's full of
tie-downs, rope, etc.. The others are for random crap that I don't want moving around.

What exactly is a Costco banana box?

I installed 2 T-tracks at the front of my bed, cut slots out of the bed mat to fit them, and bolted a UWS box to the tracks. This gave me:
    - ability to slide the box front to back to accommodate traction boards when I want them, and more bed space when I don’t.
    - if I want the box out of the bed for hauling something big, nothing protruding above the mat surface.
In one pic, you can see the cutouts in the mat accommodating the tracks. The other pic is the installed box.

A bed mat and this Plano box work well for me. No sliding around, fits under my factory tonneau, and has wheels at one end to make pulling out to tail gate easy.

Keep going with the 3D print. Making your own stuff is cool. (I have a shell and am constantly swapping out bins of gear or camping stuff, so everything has to be easy in and out.)

The real question is what are you looking to store? Not every solution is the best, and is why most people are content with different setups. A bed mat and tonneau cover by themselves go a long way. My personal favorite setup, a camper shell and DIY bed platform.

I definitely agree with pad to stop things from moving around easily. I have a trifold hardcover for security of thing in the bed and a bed extender that folds out if needed. I put two med totes in area behind seats and use the little cubby with the jack for straps. I also put the floor jack on the floor behind seat, I can carry a third person in a pinch but it’s usually me and maybe my wife. Totes work and you can pick and go with them

I used 2 swingcases for about a year. They were awesome for an exposed bed that only needed a little bit of storage; once I got a camper shell though, I realized how much space they really take up.

I've been debating getting a second, there is only 1 more item I would want to fit in it though and I like how little room just the one takes up.
