RTV gaskets explainer...

Are there any decent articles or videos out there that do a good job of explaining the different types of RTV gaskets out there and what color should be used where? There are so many brands that make them (Loctite, Permatex, JB Weld, etc) and within those brands there are multiple colors, and sometimes within the colors, there are variations of hi-track, quick set, hi temp, etc.

 

I dont know of a one shot deal, have to look up what you changing. Water pump, oil pan, valve covers etc.

 

Go to permetex website and do some research.

 

Go to any of the Industrial Suppliers websites they all have break downs of the different blends !!

Anymore I just pick the Color that looks pretty.
