I’m hoping it makes quite a bit of torque. I am going to keep the tune pretty mild but if it is anything like Mike’s, i will be very pleased.

No sir I do not, I do however use solar flux on the inside which works pretty well. From what I understand you need to back purge since the back side of the weld doesn’t have shielding gas like the outside does while welding.

installed some 1” aluminum blocks and u-bolts today under my 1.5” aal. The truck was sitting about 1/2” lower in the rear after the camper went on but it sits much better now. Hopefully there won’t be any driveline vibes, still need to take it for a test drive

 

Be mindful of axle wrap. Your AAL may help prevent it though.

 

I will definitely keep an eye on that. Hoping the small block keeps that to a minimum. If it does start acting up I have a set of OEM overloads I may throw in there and just remove the block

 

Working on the intake today. Got a 5/8 barb welded in for the catch can outlet. Also cut down the silicone 90 for the inlet and outlet of the turbo.


Then proceeded on with mocking up the hot side charge pipe. Mockup is now done, just need to weld it up. Tomorrow morning the plumbing will begin

 

Wouldn't that be something if you could use the oiling system from the Rotrex, for the turbo......

 

If that was possible it would make for an easy swap! I’m going to be yanking all of that stuff out though.

it does have me thinking about oil coolers lately though. do you have one you recommend for a truck that didn’t come with one?

 

Intake piping is welded up and truck is back together and supercharged for the last time. Pulling it back apart tomorrow to plumb everything and hopefully have the initial start up either tomorrow or Thursday.

 

Finalized quite a bit of stuff today. Wrapped the downpipe, and installed that and the header for the last time hopefully . Also swapped out the bov cover for an aluminum Full Race one. Got the catch can replumbed and added a filter to the valve cover. Had to make a supply run for some vacuum hose, so I will wrap that up and run the oil and coolant lines tomorrow then hopefully get to start it up!

 

Hey buddy can I ask where you got the shielding / covering for the wire loom on the fire wall. Plus do you have the tool for tightening & cutting stainless ties for the exhaust wrap?
Robert it looks really good. The only left is to sell the Rotrex but you are one of the lucky guys who got one that hasn’t self destructed like all the others. Again that looks really good, nice job.

I do not have the tool to tighten and cut the stainless ties unfortunately. Been getting by using a set of Sta-Kon electrical crimping/cutting pliers. Definitely all ears if you know of a tool good for this though, my pliers don’t work great

Drive around the block went well. About to take it for a spin on the road, but no leaks and all is well so far. Already feels torquier below and around 2k rpms than the urd setup so that’s a win! Also, name change for this thread finally.
