    Hi Friends,

Figured this best fit in the Wheels & Tires though there's some significant overlap with the 'Suspension' category on this one. I'll do my best to keep it short & sweet.

I'd like to hear opinions/recommendations for those who've run into the classic uneven tire wear issue with a Lifted vehicle. Currently, the inner most tread depth of my tires is at about 1/4", while the outermost treads are a full 1/2" deep from top of tread to base. So yeah, 1/4" total difference between the two sides, which is depressing.

My Taco sports a 6" lift from BDS Suspension, and the last two sets of tires have shown uneven wear towards the inner side of the tire. The first set wasn't this bad, but this second set (different tire style but same manufacturer) definitely wore more unevenly.

I had an alignment done within the month of purchase of each set, but did not follow up with a second one at any other time for the life of each set of tires. The alignment was per manufacturer's spec's for a stock Tacoma.

The size of these tires - 285/65/R18. First Set - Nitto Terra Grappler Second Set - Nitto EXO Grappler.

Given the type of uneven wear, My first reaction is to request more positive camber than what is spec for stock. To make things a bit more muddy however, I plan to purchase the next set this August, but I'm thinking of downsizing to a 275/65/R18 instead, and looking at Wrangler UltraTerrain AT brand tires instead.

Am I nuts to think the stock camber + the 6" lift are to blame for the uneven wear? I welcome any other thoughts/ideas as to what I can adjust to keep my tires wearing as evenly as possible.

Sounds like a camber wear issue to me. How old is the lift? I’d start looking at worn components. Just because the readout looks good means zero.

Thanks Gotoman, that's what I have concluded & i think it's time to experiment when the next set gets purchased.

The Lift came with the truck, and while i bought it in 2015 i believe the lift was installed in 2013. It's also been a while since i had it up on jacks, but i'll definitely check a few of the components. What I can say is that i did replace the LCA bushings, drivers side tie-rod end, both lower ball joints, and the camber bolts & plates are less than 3 years old. Haven't replaced the upper ball joints at all though, so I'll start with those.
