Thanks. It was really easy. Hardest part was grinding down the nuts. Used leather gloves to keep from burning my fingers. Alternated between the two nuts I had to grind down so they wouldn't get too hot.

Update: There is a small screw on the locks that keep it from rotating if you attach normally. You need to remove that to use the locks. But save it for when the Yakima adaptors become available. The lock will spin freely around the pin once it is on but it is locked. Photo of the nuts I used. Bolts are 8mm - 1.25mm. See photo of the bag. Cannot remember the exact size of the carriage bolts I used. Bring the locking pin with you to size it. But match the length below the flange on it, not the overall length.

It’s been rock solid and nothing has budged. I’ve been regularly carrying 4 boats up top with no problems.

I meant more specifically for the diy fit kit you did.

That’s what I meant too. The angle bracket setup is bomber.

What specific angle brackets did you use? What hardware store?

I don’t remember the brand name, but I bought them at Ace. I bought one, tried it in the parking lot with the rack to ensure fit, then went back in and bought the number I needed.

Alright thanks, I’ve gone to two different aces can’t seem to find any that resemble those ones.
