Anyone interested in a Sat morning at M1 Concourse "Cars & Coffee"? A couple Overlandbound members and I are planning to go on July 2. They have been in the past, said that there was a really big turnout of all kinds of stuff, but no off-road vehicles besides theirs. So I thought getting a small group to meet nearby and then caravan over could be a good way to meet other off-road vehicles owners, OB members, etc and represent the off-road vehicle community at these social public events. Plan is 8AM at Avon Donuts on Woodward then 8:15 we cross Woodward and go into M1 (or park across the side street if you don't want to have your vehicle "on display", they do ask owners to use discretion on their vehicles "show worthiness")

Just a few of my favorite snaps from Silver Lake dunes. Best trip so far! Test Hill was fickle today but eventually conquered :taco:

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I might be making a trip up for my moms birthday. If I do, I'll gladly add some Inferno to the crowd.

I'm looking forward to heading that way in August. Hopefully meet up with some trail guides. I should have a pretty hard schedule by the beginning of July.
In the meantime I'm gonna head over soon and check some off road parks...ill keep you guys posted.

Wow, this is beautiful. I’ve never heard of Drummond Island (I’m not originally from MI) but this is definitely going on the bucket list.

It, and most of the U.P. and some of the northern lower peninsula are very special places. If you go there during the summer, be prepared for mosquitos!

    Those pics look great!

I loved the color when I saw it in person...It comes across the internet looking just as good.

BTW...Tires are not installed. Still got a little life on my present set.

    KO.

    Out.

Thanks for the kind remarks. I’m very slowly learning how to use the HDR functions on my phone and editing my pictures to look like I know what I’m doing o_O

As far as the tires, wear them suckers out! Especially during the summer. Save those fresh puppies for the winter.

Don't forget the black flies in the UP. They're like house flies, but they bite!

Yes! If you're prepared for one you should be good for both.

Just got back from a family trip down south to GA/FL and I could not believe the amount of Tacomas I saw. Tons of built up 4Runners and FJs too. At one point I was chatting with a guy who was driving a Broverland GX470 and he told me that used to drive a Tacoma but they are “so boring and played out” that he bought the Lexus to replace it ( I was in my wife’s Subaru and didn’t tell him I drove a Tacoma). Im sure most of the country is like this but it put into perspective how bare the Tacoma community is up here…

It just depends where you go. I saw a lot in Colorado and Utah, but not many along the route there. Also quite a few in SoCal and Hawaii. Funny thing about the Hawaii ones is that they tend to be built up and there's really no place for them to use them as such so they're nothing more than pavement princesses.

But, to be fair, you'll also probably see fewer foreign vehicles here than anywhere else since the Big 3 are here.
