How much did they charge you for the re-drill? I'm considering doing this on my truck to get rid of my adapters.

Also when you say they had to turn down the hub did they shrink the diameter or knocked it down?

I'm thinking to remedy the rotor issue I'm going to buy some rotors from a 22' tundra

I don't remember the exact cost but I think it was between $130-140. Yeah the hub was practically nonexistent after they were done. Maybe a few millimeters protruding from the surface as well as a smaller diameter. When I pull the wheels off again, i can take some pictures. I'm curious if the 22 tundra axles would be interchangeable. The rotors is a good idea also.

That's not bad at all! I'm assuming you have to cover the shipping there and back.

I'd prefer if they only shrank the diameter to a standard 106mm and not milled it down that short. I'm gonna call around to some local shops and see what they can do instead.

From my understanding the 22' uses the 9.5" diff so I'm assuming the axles are different but the rotors look similar from what I can tell.

EDIT: Also the 07-21 tundras use the same rear rotors for both 9.5" and 10.5" axles so I'm hoping for good compatibility on the new stuff.

 

Yeah really not too bad. Yes, I had to cover shipping there. Shipping on the way back was covered in that 140. I agree; I would have preferred to keep as much protruding as possible.

Shucks, I didn't realize it was a 9.5 for the 22. I guess makes sense in terms of using the same platform across vehicles. Good to know regarding the rotors. Hopefully, I don't have to drill then out again in the future.

 

Finally had a chance to get the truck out. I still don’t have the locker installed yet, but actually thoroughly impressed with the ATRAC. Also lovin the new rear setup.

Truck looks sick. I’ve been putting off doing the front locker because of all the places ATRAC has gotten me. There’s those times though when a locker would be nice. It really is surprising though how well the ATRAC works.

 

You’ll be impressed with ATRAC until you get a locker. It’s a serious cheat button

then you can fab a nice little aluminum skid to go from the jd pivots to your bumper.

Short little update to the truck...for the life of me i couldn't get the tundra ebrake to actuate properly at the rotor while retaining the factory Tacoma cable. I
decided to try an alternative route. Wildwood makes a caliper mounted cable actuated ebrake. I was a little skeptical about the size and know it's not necessarily designed for the size of my vehicle but for the price, i figured i give it a shot. They actually make an electric one as well but definitely unnecessary for my application. There's two open bolt holes on that back of the backing plate that worked perfectly for the mount. I trimmed away part of the dust shield. I ended up buying the wildwood universal cable kit and was able to eliminate the factor cable. I only have a couple of pics of it mounted. I always forget to take pictures haha. We'll see how it works over time.

 

park on a hill, put it in neutral and put the ebrake on. If it holds, then you know.

 

Yeah it holds fine on a hill but not sure as she gets heavier in the future. I like @Sociopenguin 's idea better though haha.
