    Stuff. Also things.
I don’t have any gauges to check those pressures, but I think I can get some from HF. Not averse at all to getting the right tools and doing the job right, but…

I’m definitely gonna try the easy (lazy) route first haha

And the brakes failed on my mom's Jetta and she just asked if she should tow it to the junk yard.

I have a set if you decide you need em. I think I have the can adapters too and probably have a can but I'd have to check that it didn't get lost in the move

got tired of dragging around the welder on my dirt driveway so I made an off-road welding cart yesterday out of scrap metal I had laying around. Still need to add some accessory hangers, clean it up and paint it.

I had that’s exact one from Walmart outside my camper door for 2 years and it was still holding up when I sold the camper. They definitely help keep crap out

So I am buttoning up the front diff, manual tube. Going to use Toyota's 1281 FPIG. Haven't worked with this stuff before and definitely do not want to :annoyed:

The FSM shows - a bead like this.

    upload_2022-6-12_12-20-43.jpg

Also saw a YT vid showing this... isn't this a bit excessive? Looking for useful tips on applying this stuff. Thx.

Not bad at all, just use the little tool it comes with to roll/squeeze it out.

Same stuff is used on an A340 pan -

    20200203_155249.jpg

Used it on both the Tacoma and 4Runner.

Never applied any but also never seen that much on any I have taken apart. Looking at the t100 diff I can see a little squeezing out.

What's not bad? The sealer itself or the application in the second picture (which was done by squeezing it onto a finger and sandwich spreading it out)?

Yep, that is how the one I have here looked from the factory. Doubt it was ever opened. Just a little bit visable. Also wasn't as much to scrape/clean off. That second pic, damn if it doesn't seem like way too much. Again, I've never worked with this stuff so WTF do I know... lol

Both, although I probably wouldn't use my finger.

You'll find that Toyota was a bit excessive themselves with the use of FIPG. If you've taken apart a front diff, transmission pan, and other stuff where FIPG was used, you'll see it seeps out along the edges.

I'd run a thick bead and let it work itself outward as intended.

Of course, ensure all mating surfaces are clean.

The transfer case was slammed with excess when I took it apart. Not so much with the diff tube though.

Ok, thanks all. I'm going to follow the FSM's example for the diff tube since it doesn't really have that much of a mating surface area.
