did the $2 sound deadening mod using a pool noodle stuffed between the cab and box. Will know if it worked when I do a 250klm round trip delivering skid plates today.

get some of these, door plates and slap them at the back side of the cab https://www.homedepot.ca/product/pr...white-self-adhesive-wall-protector/1000131729
It's what i'm using to prevent my cables from chafing into the paint.
    trim.jpg

I noticed the first few days that even rubber/ heatshrink is enough to wear down the paint so i slapped one of those. that's about 8 months of wear and tear on it.

I doubt that will happen for me. There is so much oil from undercoating on the pool noodle when I pushed it in.

I will report that I don't hear noise from the back now but only wind noise from my side windows.

I could be looking too deep into it and extrapolating forces to their extremes, but the frame will flex as you drive over potholes, any other obstacles like curbs, and gravel roads that have corrugations on it. Yes the rear suspension will dampen 99% of the forces, but there is still minor movement/ flex to take into consideration. Because the Cab and Bed are independent of each other resulting in the gap that they have between each other and even a small amount of movement, a repeated force can begin to act as an abrasive regardless what materials are used.

i also haven't held a pool noodle in a few years so what i recall is that they are fairly dense and forgiving when beating someone with it but still with a rough surface. technology of the modern-day pool noodle could have advanced 10-fold since.

But you're right, the oil should keep things lubed up and should be super good enough to not cause damage.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, because it's not. The road noise has been pissing me off for years and yet you bring us this stupid-cheap idea. Figured to bring it up as it's something to thing about, I'll definitely add in a foot wide strip of clear vinyl for $12 or something between the Cab and the noodle. Additionally i wonder how well it holds up with stopping snow/ ice from forming...

A good example of this is any truck with fender flairs.
My truck has clear wear lines wherever the flairs touched the paint.
Little tiny bit of dirt + constant vibrations

Well my doors don’t close good anymore and have to be slammed for what it is. The flex is real… they also don’t align with the back doors…

I found at Ardbeg the WeBoost provided no benefit while streaming the hocky game.

It might be something with my setup, but I dont think its providing much of a gain for me.

I bought the $240 chineseium booster two years ago: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07MV3BLN1/

It improved the signal by 1 bar sometimes and made no difference other times. A bigger antenna might help but it'd be an additional investment/gamble. I have since stopped carrying the the booster on wheeling trips.

Just like Wi-Fi bars around the house. Signal strength != Signal quality

My thought was the larger antenna would help both signal strength and quality.

CRamming a larger antenna on your cell phone/hotspot would likely not degrade the signal. in the case of the cellular booster there could be multipath between its re generated/amplified signal and the faint signal that its using to amplify. I am more familiar with these systems used in building applications, and in which cases there is good separation between the boosters antennas.
