I know there are a few threads on this topic, but wanted to get a refresh on any recommendations for good camping sites in and around Central Florida. I miss my primitive camping days, but with a wife and young daughter that prefers room service, i'd like to find a place that sort of "meets in the middle" so to speak. I dont like crowded sites, but may have to suck it up so the girls have a real toilet and shower to use.

Any suggestions, recommendations, experiences would be appreciated.

I just got back from camping at Juniper springs campground (Google it)
Friday night only like 4 tents camping in the whole place.
No electricity or water at the sites but restrooms were very clean.

we had fun then went to Alexander springs the next morning.

    good luck.

I left Florida a few years ago. But used to take the wife and kids to Fish Eating Creek. Has bathrooms and showers.

Silver Lake and Cypress Glen if you have a camper. Farther back in the same campground is a primitive camping area. This is located off of hwy 50/98 near Brooksville. Lots of hiking and biking trails near there. If you are doing a camper, Cypress Glen is farther back and farther away from the interstate so it is quieter. They built new bath houses a year or two ago and they are really nice. It is our go to campground for a long weekend (if we can get reservations).
