I have a 2012 Tacoma 4WD with OEM steel rims (16x7, 0 offset). I just picked up a set of OEM alloy rims - new 'take offs' from a 2022 Tacoma 4WD (16x7, +25 mm offset). I know I will need new lugs with the mag washer for the alloy rims. My question is: will the 25 mm offset require the extended-longer lugs or will the standard length lugs work? In other words, does the 25 mm offset allow for more stud thread to be accessible requiring longer lugs? Is there any 'negatives' to ordering the longer lugs just to be safe?

    Thank you.

Standard lugs work fine. They will both grab the same amount of bolt. The only reason to run longer lugs is to have them more prominent on the wheel - short lugs on some wheels look recessed.

The take-off oem wheels use short lugs, however. Long lugs will protrude out. There's nothing wrong with that, aside from looks. :cookiemonster:

    Rock and euro,

Thanks for the input. Agree with you on offset and backspacing. That's why I decided to reach out to someone that knows more than me - thanks again!
