Truck overheated during extended drive in 100 degree plus weather...

Popping hood, Top radiator hose had been "pushed off" the head"s water-jacket nipple (I'm guessing from combustion gas pressure).

Reconnected hose, tried to start engine to avoid cracking the block while adding water - got sound of engine spinning over with no compression...

While hoping it was just a blown head gasket, ran a compression test at home. Got 20/20/40/60 psi on cyls 1-4...

    *** Sounds like possibly a warped head/cyl block?? ***

    - About to tear the engine down in the truck to pull the head, as the videos I have found on the procedure for this twin overhead cam engine indicates this will take me a while, thought I'd post to see if anyone has seen numbers that low... I am a "shade tree" mechanic from the carburetor era...

P.S. dipstick is clean - no sign of water in oil & no oil in remaining coolant I drained...

    Thanks for any input.

WOW. Sorry to hear about your troubles.

Don't hear about head gasket issues on the 4 cylinder too much unless it is ran hot. I hope you get your issues sorted out, Best of luck.
