I have never leased a vehicle, but had to for a short period for work. It was a 24 month lease on a '20 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk.

The dealership I got it from is reminding me weekly that the lease is almost up and they want it back. It was financed through Ally and I was told by their customer service that I can turn it in at any Ally approved dealer - not just where I got it.

Due to the current market for used cars, I thought I heard/read somewhere (maybe here?) that some dealers are offering cash to turn in your lease to them. Is this true?

I don't care where I go - there are several options near me. Do I just call and say this is what I got what will you give me for it? Or call the original dealership and ask what they'll give me not to bring it somewhere else?

You can actually sell it if you wanted to, there is likely a buy out price.

Call the finance company and see what it would take to do a buy out and see if the math makes sense with the inflated prices of cars.

All used car lots are paying well though and will make the process easier at a cost.
