I didn’t see many forums about 3rd gen tacoma muffler swaps so i decided to make my own on how i did this mod. I bought a flowmaster 44 series (942548 from Advanced auto parts). Since the tacoma exhaust is about 2 3/8” a 2.5” pipe slides over it snuggly, or at least it did for me.
    Materials I bought a
    -18” 2.5” exhaust pipe and
    -4 x 2.5” exhaust clamps.

-Cut stock muffler off as close to muffle as possible.
-Cut 3”+ and 11” piece out of the 18” pipe
-Slide 3” where exhaust first is supposed to meet muffle on the inlet side. (Now depending on what model muffler, this pipe length can differ, but for this model muffler, 11” is perfect)
    - Slide 11” pipe over the exhaust pipe that’s over axel, slide muffler on, push hard enough to get enough clearance to slide muffle onto exhaust pipe coming from engine
    - Clamp it all down
