    I paid $299 to extend the wife's highlander to i think 45k
30k service by itself was $279 so it made sense.
For that ammount of money I would want it to cover atleast to 75k

    Whole bunch of shit! $$$
No offense OP, but they (dealer) fucked your eyes out on that deal, everything about it screams profit profit profit to the dealer, and with your FICO score, they really hosed you on the interest rate too. I would check with local credit unions, big banks, or bankrate or lightstream on the internet, you can do way better than 4.6%, but hey, its your money, do what you want to, and for fucks sake, drop that $1600.00 toyota shit warranty and put it on your note, but wait until you refinance to do that, that way you pay less interest off instead of at your current rate.......

I think that is the only scenario in which it might make sense. I don't think it covers the brakes or windshield wipers does it? Pretty much just oil, oil filter and air filter (maybe the cabin air filter)? I'd have to go back and read all the fine print to see what you actually get with it.

Thanks for all the feedback. Sounds like the car plus plan isn't worth it if you can do basic maintenance. After looking at the factory maintenance plan closer it doesn't look like there is anything major within 55k miles and I can inspect everything listed. As far as financing I just wanted the student discount and it doesn't sound like they will give it to me so I will just pay it off outright. There isn't a pre-payment penalty so no big deal. Still happy with the deal:

    Model 7594 $27547/$29735
    LL SR Conv Package $427/$480
    TO Tow Package $579/$650
    Delivery $940

    Total Invoice $29,493
    Total MSRP $31,805

Paid $543 over invoice +TTL and no TDA fees.

Planning on putting on the trd pro suspension and a new set of tires/wheels as the first upgrade.

Check some shit, Torque some shit, Top of some shit, Rotate some shit. Filters and oil.
I figured on top of what it covered, I could probably put away the $300 in their free coffee and donuts on the extra 4 trips alone.
So I figured I was coming out ahead.

$300 for 4 services incl. the 30k seems decent. 1st class dealerships can be very nice when you take advantage of them. No disrespect to Toyota but if you have access to a multi-brand dealer (Like Lexus/Toyota) your experiences may be better. Definitely fill up on coffee and snacks, take some to go and pick up some dealer SWAG. Don't forget the car-wash and for larger svcs the loaner car. (Helps to reserve the loaner when you make the svc appointment.) I've also experienced/seen: Need the mandatory annual state safety inspection: $16 in VA, just stop by hang out for 20 minutes and car gets washed/vacumed as well. Or, have a new tail light bulb installed for $5 (Cheaper than just the part) Bam! another round of coffee, donuts and car wash!

    Couple things ...
1st, whenever you go to get service, the inspecting part is always BS. They are going to check everything anyway, that's how they know what to try to upsell you.
so you just pay for an oil change, but they are going to check your air filter and cabin filter while they are at it.
What you do is buy the filters and leave them on the seat. Then you tell the service writer hey I know he's going to take it out, look and it, and then put it back, so I've got the part already and it's on the seat, I'll give you an extra $10 since all he needs to do is open up the door and open the box.

If you own a Lexus, they will wash your car any time for free. I've seen people come in multiple times a week. Just for a free car wash and free breakfast

I went in for my 20k mi service which is covered by the Toyotacare warranty 2yr/25k. The dealership offered me the Toyotacare Plus plan. Is it worth going for the Toyotacare Plus plan which provides coverage for up to 4yrs/45k mi at $399.99 price point?

I figure use the same thread and not start a new one since its on the same subject. That price point is definitely alot lower than what I would expect. However I do not mind having to do regular maintenance just wanted to see what others opinion was on this.

Been my thoughts also. Had a head unit fail on our prius that would of been covered by toyota's extended warranty, but i'd rather invest that money....dealer wanted about $1200 for 75k miles or 7 years. Didn't offer anything less, just more. At any rate i bought a head unit from eBay for $400, and put it in myself...dealer wanted close to $3k to do the job. Imo, these extended warranties are crap shoot at best, and a rip off at worst. I never had a drivetrain issue far out of warranty on any toyota since the 70's. If its going to fail usually its within 5 years. Its all these crazy electronic's our trucks come with now that i question.

Recently bought the Toyota Care Plus service extension starting at 30k miles for $399. "2 major services covered" (30k & 45k) screams the pamphlet they sell it with. Dropped my truck off today for 30k mile service, within an hour I am sent the video telling me how everything on my truck still looks brand new, brakes are great, tires are great, etc....BUT they need to do a power steering flush & brake fluid flush because the liquid is SO DIRTY....and want $400 for said flushes. Dealership still can't tell me what they did on this "major" service that they don't normally do that was so much more expensive (again according to the pamphlet they sold the coverage with), I have the TRD airbox with perm filter so they aren't even doing that, if they tell me it's the cabin air filters I'm probably going to throw something through the service bay window.

Is it unreasonable to think those things would be covered? There are literally NO EXCLUSIONS on the paperwork.

You'd prefer me start a whole new thread, or use one that exists? If I could have found the answer elsewhere I would have and not posted at all.

Whoa, that was not directed at you, I just found it amusing that a thread from 2017 finds its way back not once, but twice.

the ppm plans depend on what you bought...

classic plans are basically oil change / rotate
premium plans typically cover whatever would be covered, in your case for the 30k and 45k services
you can look at your owners manual to see what should be changed at those intervals to know what they're supposed to change

Thanks for the reply. Went to pick up my truck, pissed, service “kid” advisor couldn’t even look me in the eyes and tell me I was wrong/mistaken/etc. Just wanted me to sign the receipt and get me out of there, not so much as an apology. Also couldn’t show me on the materials where it stated that wasn’t covered. “Manager” was too chicken shit to come out if his office and face me, sent that poor kid back out like a deer in the headlights. I won’t be using that dealership ever again.

I got plans that covered all the maintenance items listed at the intervals at reduced prices. The bundle would be slightly more than just one of the biggest services. They give me free lyft rides one way and I can easily schedule next day or even same day sometimes. It's working for me.
