I bought a new car so what should I do with the Tacoma?

    A. Keep it for 10 year old son when he is old enough to drive. He can hand it down to his 7 year old sister when he moves on to college and she is old enough to drive.
    B. Sell it then split the difference between 7 year old daughter and 10 year old son for future vehicle purchases when they are old enough to drive.

Currently has 30,000 miles on it. My first thought is that it is worth more now than it will porbably ever be and it is not a 1st Gen. No offense to anyone on this forum, but I do not think the 3rd Gen. can match the notoriety or nostalgia of the 1st Gen.

if you would rather have a car than a truck, sell it while the price is high. it's just going to get older and go down in $$

If your son was 14 or 15 keep it. Since he is only 10, now is the time to unload at top of market. In 5 or 6 years you can purchase him a new one for close to what you sell yours for now.

I got a hardship license at 14 to drive directly to and from school.

So close...but I do not think that kids these days are as mature as we were. At least I thought I was more mature?

Yeah I'd go with B. Then they both get to help in picking their own vehicle and your daughter doesn't get the shaft on her first vehicle. This is coming from the 3rd of three kids who did in fact kinda get the shaft.

New car will fit what the Tacoma does. Mostly.

And lately, the back seat has been getting to be a tighter fit for the two of them. It is seriosuly cramped back there in comparison to my wife's 4Runner.

A lot less people on the roads back in the day. Half the people out driving now are distracted or under the influence. Higher speed limits, A lot more dangerous

The only positive for A is that I get to keep the Tacoma. And keep driving it every now and then until my son is old enough.

Down the road nobody will know how to drive a manual…those of who do are a dying breed.

I don't like the options... donate to TW as a collective pool vehicle for members who are without their Tacoma for a while... don't worry, we will take care of it for you:D

I think we just had more common sense since we got our asses beat by our parents back then. At least I did. I came out good though!

    I drive a Miata.
Take the truck, the college savings, the 401k, and trade it all for a good down payment on a Donzi 43.

Fill it with booze and your companions of choice, turn left at the intercoastal and open the throttle until you hit Miami.

I won't promise that this is the smart advice, but I guarantee that this is the funnest advice.
