I noticed that when I was driving on the beach in Grayland Washington, my clock changed to 1 hour earlier. As soon as I drove back to the campground, the time went back to normal. The GPS showed that I was in the pacific ocean when on the beach, but not far enough out to be in international waters/nautical time. Anyone else ever experience this? I just started calling it beach time.

It is now official. My 40 acres east of Christmas Valley (middle of nowhere in the middle of nowhere) is mine. Recieved a warranty deed from the county today.

Thanks. Now, I can build stuff without having to ask permission from the grantors. After I extend the culvert to make access easier, I'll be building a RV pad with a patio and outdoor kitchen (maybe a brick pizza oven). Planning as much work as possible that doesn't require permits.

Long story short, spare steering rack wont be showing up until next week and leaving on my trip Friday. Anyone happen to have a steering rack, or see one for sale anywhere?

Anybody have an ARB air locker tester I could borrow or meet up to utilize for bench testing a diff before installing? Or does anyone have advice on how to test functionality without such a device? Thanks!

Update: warranty deed has been in the safe since I got it, but I got a phone call today from the seller. There was a miscalculation on the payoff amount. I will be receiving a letter in the mail within a week. Inside the letter will be a check for almost a grand.
That money will go to buy an axle set and the steel I need to build a trailer for my 20ton log splitter.

Pm sent with info. Use at own risk, watch for sagebrush growing back in the cleared area. Haven't been there in a while and need to get my tractor out there to re-clear the driveway and expand the clearing. Should be some pavers on the ground on the N side of the clearing unless junkies took em.
BLM land is to the N and E sides of my property if you want to explore a bit.

At first I thought, what kinda junkie goes waaaay out of the beaten path and steals pavers that normally would go unnoticed, and then I saw that sign and it made sense. No wonder junkies would steal pavers from out in the middle of nowhere with a name like "CRACK IN THE GROUND"! o_O

You should see some of @windsor s neighbors. The guy with the jet skis comes to mind.

Like I said, it's been a few years since I've been out there. I know I have one neighbor about 3/4 mile away with a "ranch" who is not someone that I'd enjoy talking with again. Another is the white house with red roof, nice guy to talk with. He walked over with his dog and greeted me when I was out there clearing sagebrush. The 3rd is a mile away across BLM land to the east with a small caldera between us. I know this because I thought about buying the property next to his, but he build his shack right on the property line.
I can legally put up a fence that is 6ft above ground level without a permit, definitely plan to.

I know it has gotten worse since I was last out there with lots of homeless, junkies, and weed "farmers" taking up camp around the town on "rented" private land.
As for the pavers, there is a rule of thumb out in that area. If you don't live on the lot full time, don't leave anything behind that you'd like to still be there when you come back. One additional suggestion is to own a backhoe......
I went to the hot springs one time, but left after seeing syringes on the ground.

Hey Ya'll, I just ordered some Bilstein 5100s and a Dakar leaf pack for my 3rd gen and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good shops to do the install? I'm up in Bellingham. Also I'd be stoked to save some money if there is a member who has the tools and could help me install. I have never worked on suspension and was going to use Youtube as a guide but figured I'd try to see the cost of having a shop to the work.
