Good Morning SA! Wife gave me a scare last night - "Freezer must be broken, because I didn't leave the door open!" Well, I hadn't been in it. But she did get some fish in the afternoon. "Do you have a thermometer?" I did, put it in, and it was back at 20* in an hour, and 0* this morning. But now I will have to leave the door open - and defrost it. There's a putz for the list. And some more of that putz will take care of the day.

Good Morning SA! Well, she probably left the door open, and I needed to defrost anyway, but, that seems to have uncovered the fact that it's a dying freezer. Hit that zero once, then stayed 20*, then around 10*, then 20*- so, it's struggling and I just ordered a new one to go get today.
Better than losing all the stuff in a surprise I suppose.
So, I'm on the lap top in the sunroom, ordering away, and the lights start changing levels. First thought it was the little surge of the AC turning on, then it kept getting worse.
I turned them off, and used a floor lamp to order a new dimmer, and am going to finally swap these halogen GU12's out for the LED version. I was waiting for a lamp to burn out, but they never have. So, instead of dimming 450 W, I'll be dimming 45W. And save the old bulbs for the bedroom, where they are seldom on.
Not the putz plan I had for the day.....but hey, we didn't break 100*. And the streak starts again today.

Yeah, it's not supposed to be sideways, but I'm a 1 man show. Deep into the fun part of moving everything to move everything now

 

That’s how I had to move ours too, it still works well so far!

 

I know they "don't like it", and they say so, but I looked it up on breaks....

Transport the freezer in an upright position. If it has been necessary to transport the freezer on its side, it should be stood upright for an equal amount of time as it was on its side before plugging it in. If on its side for more than a day, leave standing for 24 hours before running.

It had a 20 minute transport. Not a problem. Just loaded it up, and pushed the button. Now, I got to clean up and put everything back (at least some stuff got tossed, so that's a win around here!)

 

Well I didn’t know that, good to be aware of.
Ours sat for a couple of days before I got around to hooking it back up so it sounds like it was all good.

 

25 years old. I'll probably save a buck or two on electric. Will it pay itself back?
Pretty sure I bought it "rebuilt" in the 00's.




But, it will cost less to run, and that is still a win.

 

Evening gents , long hot day at work today, repeat tomorrow, then off to the coast for the weekend.

On another note, looks like I have a day of detailing the truck sometime next week, including clay bar. Looks like I somehow got lucky and drove behind something that had been misting paint or something of some sort , it's all over the truck and can't rub it off. Driving me nuts! Stuck on the clear coat and the truck has a rough texture to it now ugh, anyways rant over

we were pretty close to the beach access 1, marker like 39.

 

gonna head out to hidden falls this saturday with at least one other 4runner. full armor, sliders, both on 35s, im not locked but he is. can do most 4 rated trails without issue, so if anyones interested in joining lmk.

Apparently there is another group the 5th gen was telling me about that may have a few coming, gas prices and heat are going to keep most people at home i'm hoping.

plan would be to meet at area B around 830. bring a gmrs if you have one.
