Storage Solutions Behind Rear Seat

Wanted to throw this out there and see if there was any interest:

For my application (mounting some electronics in a 2nd gen) a blank or solid panel would be better. We need at least 4 people (and 8 would lower the cost) to get this going--anybody else out there interested in a blank panel for their build?

I believe he said price is around $330 shipped. Once the order is placed ~3 weeks for turn around.

 

I might be interested but the price is higher for solid vs molle?? Seems backwards, wouldn’t it be cheaper to manufacture by not having to make all those cuts?

 

can't explain the difference in price; i assume it is because the larger the order the lower the price. so if enough people ended up buying solid panels it may be cheaper but you would have to ask n-minus-1

Wow that's an extremely clean setup, well done! I'm considering something very similar for mine but good to see someone actually did it.

Couple questions if you don't mind:

1. How did you affix the acrylic to the molle panel? I'm considering some rivnuts so I can remove them in sections for service and hiding wire behind the molle.
2. Do you feel 1/4" sheet is rigid enough to hold everything?
3. Anything you would have done differently?

 

I used wellnuts. Honestly, might have just gotten a solid piece of aluminum machined to attach and cover the molle panel all together. Then don’t have to mess around with rivnuts/wellnuts. 1/4” as I have utilized is def sturdy enough—the sub is not mounted to the panel (it is mounted to the truck directly and the panel cut out around it), but the inverter is and it is quite heavy.

FYI, there is a hollow horizontal strut/support beam that is a great option for running wires behind the panel too.
