For sure totally agree with ya.

It's always better to be over-prepared with food and water for anything remote be that mtbing, hiking, offroading.

Like @Pugga mentioned the CDC's keyboard warriors should step outside the air-conditioned office every now and then.

30 miles 5k of vert. woof! Nice work!

I've used this stuff last few years. Works great. It's always super dry and dusty here in So Cal... Rain? never heard of her...

my body? pretty beat up. big scab on my left knee (took a real big spill on it last year on my mtb so that didnt help). inner right thigh is all scratched up. both forearms/elbows are scabbed. both hips are bruised along with the upper part of my butt. ripped my favorite sun jacket thing.

my bike? handle bars and tape got wrecked. both brakes/shifters were bent inward. theres a small hop in my front wheel now. but this can all be fixed

My wife isn’t very happy with it, as the measurements were off a bit. Part of it is the material, but hey, repurposed and homemade is pretty cool and I say it will work fine for an over night trip! It doesn’t look exactly right here because I didn’t take the cages off to put it on, but it shows pretty nice. There’s a pocket sewn inside as well. And then daisy chain on the top to strap on the top tube.

And the other bags I have for the bike (fork bag isn’t on correctly, but just give a picture). I’m pretty stoked about the setup so far. We’ll see how this works for a trip. I have a dry bag that I’ll strap to the seat post in place of the tool bag if needed as well.

Only thing I will have to figure out is my light situation (not that I plan on riding at night) but my Outbound Lighting handlebar light mount had to come off for the bag mount. Shouldn’t be a big deal though, I can carry my head lamp in a bag if needed.

The Capra was amazing. It was awesome downhill but it was a pig uphill. Definitely didn't like going up on it. Altitude is much better well rounded. I think I may be a tiny bit faster on the Capra but I'm having more fun with the Altitude.

No kidding. The worst part was they chose to do black mountain that day because we were all “fresh” and could do the climb. Jokes on them lol.

actually it was jokes on me…I hiked that shit for like 2 hours. But I did mid and lower black, I was determined.

31E46C7E-4544-4599-95EE-BA02F90A76E5.jpg Got my first ride in on this new frame yesterday. VerHeuen with a couple custom details. Only took 8 months to arrive but since there’s real suffering going on out there I won’t complain…….much. Pretty sure a slightly shorter stem and a 34T chainring are the only changes on the agenda. Headed to Pisgah Sunday so the taller gearing can wait

A good steel HT is hard to beat.

Added a mudguard yesterday that was custom ordered by my local shop. They only made a limited amount of these so I feel lucky getting one. I also love Carl’s Jr. so this works out great! It was actually made to honor the hard work of a long time employee so kinda cool to celebrate him.
