TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

    IF that's the case, i would go up to the largest stud that case will allow. Find associated bearings to fit. By then you are limited to the tension and compression of the case where the enlarged stud would go.

    The Ti Stud would still be in a natural state (brittle). I would go with something hardened.

    Most of the Motorads are made in Israel. There maaay be a few that are made elsewhere.

    I am betting the Mishimoto is made in China as well.

    Mishimoto is rebranded parts. Same for lot of "US companies". Sometimes I find myself asking them as well. If they're not assembled in the US, the very least are parts are made 3rd party in China, Taiwan, etc.

    I've been running the Motorad lower temp thermo for almost a year now. Everytime I glance at my UG, the water temp is at 175-176deg.

    My motorad replaced my URD lower temp thermo which usually read in the low 180s deg.

    IMHO, the urd had a lower operating temp than stock. Motorad opened at a lower temp vs URD.

    All this talk about the lower temps, but at the end of the day it doesn't matter in hot weather, as you'll still see temps increase to that of what OE would normally see anyway. There is opening temp and then there is maximum open temp.

    I still have seen 212 while towing or even just driving up a hill on really hot days despite the 160 T-stat.

    They make off road jacks now. So you can wrench and overland at the same tyme.

    People said you can do it by the pan. My preferred method is an engine cradle tool. They sell one at harbor freight or Eastwood automotive tools.
