Sorry to hear that, it sucks. I went with RCI after mine were stolen. You need their transmission skid plate to mount the cat guards to, but its a very clean and functional system. I got the front engine skid as well for a cohesive system, but the engine skid isn't necessarily required either. I have pics in my build thread linked in my signature below. Best of luck!

The RCI doesn't work on prerunners. Mounting points are not the same.

Interesting. I thought pre-runners used basically the same frame and stuff as the 4x4 trucks, with changes when you move down to the 5 lug 2wd trucks. I haven't owned or crawled under one though, so what do I know? My bad.

The mounting points for the tranny bracket sits a few inches closer to the engine than the 4wd trucks. Which means the points where the tranny skid is different. It is why you have to make a custom bracket if anyone wants to do a 4wd conversion on prerunners to mount the 4wd tranny. You can't just switch brackets and make it work. That is why they have two different skid plates for the 4wd and 2wd. Everything else is the same. Also as far as I know is that 5 lugs just means you have a 4 cylinder engine inside. I don't know if any prerunner comes with that since the only prerunners I have seen as V6.

I installed the 4x4 Cat Security shield on my Prerunner because when I bought mine over a year ago, that's all they had. It installed just fine and will be a royal PIA for someone in a hurry to remove it. But that's the general idea behind these types of shields. Make it harder and longer to get to your converter(s). Here's a couple of pictures I took after the install. The first one shows how the bracket on a Prerunner is shaped. The second is my rendention (in red) of how the bracket on a 4x4 is straight or flat across rather than curved for a Prerunner. Because of this difference I did not drill any holes. It is mounted solid and like I said, it would be a royal PIA for someone in a hurry to remove.
