I know that the Automagic transmission fill bolt on the 3rd Gen is 24mm but I don't have one that large in a shallow socket. I do have a 15/16's shallow socket and seen mention on Youtube videos that it can be used.

Any issue using that, or can I get up in there with a deepwell 24mm socket?

Why not just buy a 24mm?

That's an option. But I had read elsewhere you could use a 15/16's so that's why I asked here to confirm it.

Believe me, I have a chest full of tools. It always seems that I am lacking a particular one at times. This is how my tool stash grows. Sometimes I just use a particular tool once. But it's cheaper to buy that tool for one time use, rather than go and pay someone to do the work. And anyway, there's a high risk that the work will be done improperly.

Successfully performed the auto tranny fluid check a hour or so ago. Transmission was properly filled from the factory. Seeing it with my own eyes, I have peace of mind regarding that.
