My truck began to leak very rapidly about a week ago. I only drive her on the weekends and noticed last weekend after pulling out of my driveway. I at first assumed it was my oil filter housing seal since I had recently changed my oil and thought I may have pinched it. After investigating I realized it was around my oil pan but the reddish brown color of the oil made me think transmission. After cleaning everything of excess oil I started my truck then turned it off to see where the leak was coming from and found it leaking from the plastic clip at my engine/trans connection point. After removing it I noticed what I believe is a type of crank and two bolts. Not sure what to do from here or what the issue may be. Any help on fixing and or any lead on prices and causes would be appreciated

A little hard to tell with the pictures being so narrow framed but generally you can only have two leaks from where you are describing. Either the rear main seal on the engine or the input seal on the transmission. One would leak engine oil, the other would leak transmission fluid or gear oil depending on whether you have an automatic or manual transmission. Neither fix is cheap due to labor costs if you aren't doing it yourself.

looks like engine oil to me in the pic's. clean off all the dirt and grime then let it drip on something white that will not soak it up, maybe can get a better idea of the color.
    is there a smell test?

Dreaded rear main seal strikes again? If that's engine oil, that's probably what you've got.

I encountered something similar on mine at around 3,000 miles.
Initially I feared it was the dreaded Rear Seal leak, but after a few cleanings, and careful scrutiny, I realized it was coming from the Oil Pan Gasket (which is just silicone). I then tightened the bolts on the rear of the Oil Pan, and I found them all to be a little loose. Fortunately this seems to have fixed mine, at least for now.

So, check the Oil Pan bolts and make sure they are tight - it's easy to do, and only takes a few minutes.
