I was side-swiped last Saturday at 80 MPH. I know none of us are experts, but does it look totalled? The person hit me on the driver's side wheel, knocking it clean off as well as removing a lot of my front end.IMG_0584.jpg IMG_0587.jpg IMG_0584.jpg IMG_0584.jpg IMG_0587.jpg IMG_0584.jpg IMG_0587.jpg

Definitely hope your okay! Did any of the airbags go off? I’m assuming only the drivers side went off

   .

Looks more like a direct hit that felt like a sideswipe.

I hope you and everyone in your truck was ok.

Looks like the impact got past the front end into the cab. Will make things exponentially expensive.

    Sorry that happened to you.

Wow who cares about the truck as long as you're not seriously injured, that looks devastating!

I’d start looking for a new truck. I assume you’re ok since your posting.

If their insurance tries repairing it I’d push for them to total it.

Your frame will need to be replaced. Even if it’s not bent (which I highly doubt), the suspension mounts are broken/ bent. Under normal circumstances all that damage might be borderline totaled, but with parts availability at the moment I think the insurance company will simply total it.
The above of course a guess from the pictures above that don’t really show the true damage.

Wow, that's a real smack down there! Glad you are still above ground brother! Yeah I think you need to be prepared to kiss that truck goodbye.

Yes, it's done. 80mph collision, absolutely. Insurance Companies would total a vehicles for much mucb less damage than that.

    Doing 80 with a U-Haul trailer. Brilliant.

Not sure if the truck is totaled, but the person driving the other vehicle would be if it happened to me.

Damn. Little clarification @Barrister, were you doing 80 an got hit, or were you on the side of the road and got hit? From the location of the front tire, looks like you were stopped and got hit by someone going 80.

Can't tell from the pictures, did your side curtain air bag deploy? The frame likely has damage from the suspension getting ripped off. With the use car market the way it is, it may be close to them saying it is repairable (with a long downtime waiting for parts). Personally, I'd say if your SCA went off, it's done.

I’m going with totaled as it should be. Glad you made it! Really only thing that matters IMO.
