At one poiint I had about 30 stations on preset on the JBL system. Way too many most of them I put there to fill in all the slots. Then I learned the only way to "get rid of some" was to go into audio settings and cap the number of preset to how many you want to appear as you scroll thru (increments of 6, so 6-12-18-24-30-36).

I changed mine to 18 and reset the first 18 stations.

Every few weeks the darn thing goes back to 36 stations and I have to go back and reset.

This is the only setting I am noticing that is getting lost on the JBL. Any ideas why this happens (other than the obligatory JBL sucks comments)?

Set my JBL stations up on day one they have never changed, but I do have an XM account so that might be why mine stay the same.

Mine are all XM as well. The stations themselves don't change. What changes is the number of presets. You can do I think up to 30 or 36. But once you set them up, you cannot delete them. So they have a setting that lets you change the number of presets down. I change mine to 18 to only show the first 18 as I scroll thru. It holds for a few months but reverts back to 36.
