My friend said he bought a 2x4 Tacoma, for 45k at the dealer.

I think that's too much, overpriced, dealer inflated and or bad time to buy. On Edmonds they start at 40,118 for a 4x4.

    Oh look, another mod....

The only way a 2x4 is worth that much (maybe), is if it's a Limited. With leather, sunroof, JBL stereo/subwoofer, & 360 degree cameras.

Long, Long wait at Avondale like a year out was there the other day. Only way you get something there is by being there and person cancelled or backed out. I used to stop in weekly put a few deposits on holds but months later nothing. They have zero new cars on the lot. Also beware they will low ball your trade to make up for the msrp. Carmax offered me 50k for a 2021 tacoma pro and Avondale 44k gave me the old yeah but you'll save on sale tax and they wouldn't budge. If you have no trade go there if you do might make out better somewhere else.

I hear you, Carmax offered me close to 41-42k (was a month ago), for a 2021 Tacoma off-road (low miles) with options. Now if they actually pay that much?

Paid 4k over msrp for Lime, Manual pro. More than 2 months in have 102 miles on it lol. It was either buy gold and pay huge markup over spot or this. This has already gone up $650 on MSRP and is a lot more fun to have. Had I put it in stocks probably be down 15k Crypto 25k :)

No Tacoma should cost over $40,000. The TRD Pro should top out at $40,000.

I don't know where you are shopping? The pros are a lot more because of the Fox suspension? I want a deal, where you are shopping? lol

Pretty much. For what you get the Pros are overpriced at MSRP, even more so with the markups that are getting tossed around.

They'd offer you 36k and you'd see it certified on their site for 47k. Funny thing with me was while offering me that they had a 2019 with 30k miles on it for 54k no haggle sitting on the floor. Mine had 2k miles.

The values tacomas hold, are definitely worth the ownerships!

Market is what it is. I see no Tacomas or anything else on lots so obviously not overpriced if anything underpriced every Tacoma is sold.

For what you get from a midsize truck, they shouldn't cost more than 40k no matter who the manufacturer is, even a TRD Pro with the Foxs. Toyota should be able to make something off that truck for 40k.

When I was shopping for a Tacoma in 2012. I told every dealer I talked to that. There was no reason the top of line Tacoma should be priced above 30k.

The dealer I traded in a 2015 to, did the same thing. They marked it up a few thousand. I saw it on the lot, a couple days after I had traded it in.

Just because demand is high doesn't mean it's worth it, just that people are willing to pay for it because they don't have a choice if they want a decent midsize truck.

I used to sell artwork, people bought paintings I thought could be done by a 6 year old for 50k. I'd take my 10k commission and didn't say a word. It's worth what people will pay. Like bitcoin, it's nothing but somehow got up to 66k
